I am looking for an excellent mechanic in the East Tennessee Area for my 7.3l. It has taken a CRAP on me. Have it at my house now but a few weeks ago I picked it up from getting the tire checked and about 1/4 mile I heard a light "pop" and stutter but seemed to go ok. About 1 mile away smoke started boiling out of the exhaust and it started loosing power quickly, it got to the point where it died just as I pulled off the road. It never started from there on. I don't know where or what to do with it since. I just want my baby going again.

I don't want to do the "dealer" pricing as they are so high and think they can really fix it (been there and paid their "it's fixed" price just to find out well that wasn't really the problem). I already know which dealer and "former" dealer not to take it to. Much input would be appreciated.

Have you called the 4x4 shop in Alcoa. I cant think of there name. It's between the airport and I 75 on the south side of the road. I think the road is airport hwy. But I have seen some PSD in there parking lot. They may know someone in the area. Sorry I could not be more help. I use to be up there every 4 months camping and hanging out for a week or so. But fuel cost killed the trips.

Maryville and Townsend were both spared from the tornadoes and hail. Knoxville wasn't so lucky, they had a couple of F-1 and F-2 tornadoes.

Not like last spring when we got the BIG one(s). That was some scary stuff, the biggest one on 411 S was only about 2 1/2 miles from my house (I know not really close) but that night was one to be remembered. We had tornado warnings from 10am to 1am the next morning NON STOP. The storms seemed to be taking the same track over and over and over and over again. Lots of hail damage from the storms last year. People are still getting roofs put on this year (I work at Lowe's) from last years storms...:dizzy

The wife and I were looking at coming up there in may. But she changed my mind for me when I was not looking..lol. So we are going to the coast instead. She want to see the town that my great great great grand dad started before the civil war. It's called Supply NC. My under standing is theres not much there.
