How loud will it be INSIDE the vehicle?
I'm running the MBRP muffler and the cat converter right now and it sounds stock on the inside. I tow a trailer and don't want "too" much noise inside the cab!
And will it improve performance or mileage without cat conv.?

Thanks

It's not really that much of a sound level increase. Everything is bolt in so if you don't like it put the OEM stuff back in.

Just installed muffler delete for 4" MBRP cool duals (completely straight). Oustanding sound. Interior noise has changed minimally (radio is off listening for anything), but loud when you put your foot into it. 3000rpm sounds like a muscle-car; 2000rpm (8psi) has a nice rumble. Turbo whistle was the goal, and it's very high pitched and noticable. Wish I had completed this modification much sooner.:sweet

I hear "4 inch" and "5 inch" all the time. How does this compare to the OEM muffler pipe size?

Thanks,

Al

Performance gains are NOT due to exhaust size but the EGT's will be much lower. If you were to add ONLY an exhaust system 4"-5" you will not gain you any HP&TQ. In fact the truck may loose low end power so it will feel like less HP is there.
Now looking at the "system" approach to doing mods. Increasing air flow in, adding fuel and increasing air flow out will give you the power you want and keep the EGTs in check with the 4"-5" ehxaust.
Exhaust alone isn't worth the cost or effort.
I was lucky to find the MBRP downpipe and cat delete pipe from forum members. I was even luckier that it all bolted up to the OEM system. I just cut the muffler out and have enjoyed it ever since I finished the project. I'm extremely happy with the results and the sound.
