Guys i currently have LT265/70/R17's on my F250 it has no lift.. but i have heard i can put 315/70/R17's on these rims.. without rubbing any insight to this? I am looking at Goodyear Duratrac's to give it an aggressive look without having to buy a lift.

I have heard up-sizing like this will add about an inch ride height and like i said not rub. Help! i don't know much about tires and the baby tires look rediculous on this truck

I Just put the duratrac's on my 08 F250 and I love them. The ride is good, quiet and solid. I haven't been in rain yet though. I went from a 32" to a 33" on 18's. O and I had to fill them up to 65 psi all around.

I don't know if this will help you or not but... I ran 37x12.50x17 on my 2005 with just a leveling kit on it. That was the absolute biggest I could go without more lift. I ran the 315/70/17 for a while with plenty of clearance.

I'm actually running BF Goodrich 38's with just a 4 inch lift. Only mod I did was upgraded my steering stabilizer to aid in turning the extra weight.

Check out my pics.

I had 325-65X18's (35"x13.5"x18") on my stock 18" wheels on my 05, with a Fabtech 2" leveling kit. They didn't rub anywhere! The 05-11 trucks fit a bigger tire without any lift.

You also have Cut Out flares, BIG difference. Also, 99-04's don't have the same suspension as the newer trucks, so comparing your 99 to an 05 isn't apples to apples.

Sooo My stock 17's on a 2005 with no leveling kit will fit a 315 70 r17??

Also side question, but difference between D rating and a E rating is 8ply vs 10ply... if im not maxing the load in bed or plowing do i NEED 10 ply? will 8 ply's last long or wear down fast due to normal weight of vehicle?

8 ply's will work just fine. The weight is the difference. We all ran 8 ply's many years ago, as there were no 10 ply tires available at the time.
