map sensor/boost fooler?

If you keep your waste gate stock and unmodified, you shouldn't over boost as it will still blow open at 25ish. If you were to eliminate the wastegate, then you could get into trouble. This is the way that Tony W explained it to me, and it makes sense to me.

Oh ok, i see now, makes sense, guess i never thought of it like that

Hmmm... I have the 6637 air filter, 4" exhaust and a DP tuner chip, and on the 80 econo setting I can easily set an overboost code... that is with an un-touched turbo and wastegate....

Have you pulled the codes to make sure it's an overboost and not an ICP code?

If yes, some actuator's are stronger than others. What does your boost gauge read when it trips the code? As long as your red tube is still on the actuator at the turbo it's alot harder to go over 25psi but some PCMs start defueling at 22lbs, that is why you want a fooler so you can achieve max boost. As long as you don't see over 25 often I wouldn't worry, I peg 27lbs getting on the interstate occasionally with my modded turbo and new programs.:thumbs
