Question Manual Transmission Filter

Does a 97 F350 7.3L 4X4 manual 5 speed transmission have a filter? The filter the auto parts store sold me has a 12 X 16 inch gasket - no gasket that big on the transmission,

i didnt think maual trans had filters !!!

sounds like an auto tranny pan gasket. im pretty sure there is no filter on the 5speed, there may be a screen but that wont catch much and wouldnt need to be changed. i never had one of those trannies so i dont know for sure.

No filter or screen, just a magnetic drain plug. Cheers!

Sounds to me like they sold you a filter and gasket for a auto. No filter on the manual.
