Manual 4WD shifter on electric shift transfer case

You can't drill the tranny shafts, even the shift shaft (say that five times) as they are hardened.

The electric cases I've had apart in the past the electric motor turns 270° a movement range that is not reasonable to do with an mechanical shift lever.

ok now we are getting somewhere, thanks for the info guys, this is what I wanted (well didn't want to...lol) to know.

Now my next question, since it looks like a manual shifter is out of the question unless I change the transfer case, can the ESOF motor be wired to run off the switch and bypass all the crap that makes them not work?

This sounds like you are trying to take the complex and make it impossible. Just get a manual transfer case. It will be a lot less headaches.

IIRC they only used two, both from New Process
why do you want to switch anyway?
If the ESOF is malfunctioning, I'd bet repairing it would be way cheaper than a conversion (and less of a pain in the keister as well).

I would sure like to put a manual shift on mine. Right now I have the servomotor removed and i lay on my back with a 14mm wrench on the flats and rotate shaft to change xfer case from 4x4 to 2wheel drive. I have a 99 Super duty 7.3 manual xmsn. My truck was made april 98...just my luck. Where are the transfer case relays located? Is F0AB-14B192-AA the correct pn for the two relays? I'm gettin way too old to be under my truck in -10C weather. The servo motor seems to operate on the bench, but i cant seem to get any voltages to it through its wiring. Thanks in advance for your help.

JLDickmon, yes my ESOF is malfunctioning, and as with Rudolphvan's ESOF mine works on the bench as well. So what do I need to do to figure out why I'm not getting power to the motor?

Trace the wire backwards from the servomotor to find where you do have power. That will narrow down any wiring problems. You may be able to replace the wire outside of the harness to bypass either a chaffed or shorted wire.
