I dis-agree. The OEM plug now becomes Moot. Part of the benefit of a larger Dif lube capacity is More lube. Like a larger Trans or Oil Pan.. More Capacity. Couple more capacity with the Aluminum's ability to dissipate heat ? That's what the Mag Hytech is all about. Heat dissipation.

Not Only the "Looks", the Rear-End runs a bit cooler.

You're right to a point. You do in fact have more capacity, because the cover is deeper. The level, or height inside the axle doesn't change, neither does the factory fill hole. Thats the reason the cover is deeper, so you do have more capacity. You never want to increase the level, or height of the oil on the actual dif.

I also filled mine thru the cover fill hole, and the truck is in my garage, so its level. I'm not trying to argue or anything, just don't want to overfill my axle.

Did you make shure you got all the old oil out when I did mine I jacked the truck up at each end of the axle to make shure the tubes where empty. Im not trying to sound nasty I just want to help if I can :D

Buff, no problem, I appreciate the help. I definitely got all the old oil out, I also let it drain overnite to be sure it was all out. After reading a few other places, I have discovered Mag-Hytec's directions are a little off on oil quanity. I'm going to remove the factory fill/check plug and let all the extra drain out, then I'm good to go.

Bob,

I think the one thing (I) we didnt take under consideration here is; Differential Series. Mine is a Dana 90 DRW. Mine MAY hold more lube than yours.

I 'm glad you got it figured out.

I apologize if I seemed a bit "Snippy". I meant no Harm Nor Foul.
