LOW TEMP. GUAGE READING?????

driving my truck today and noticed the temp.guage was low. also noticed not much heat in truck. yesterday was fine. the only thing i did today with it, was push on the go pedal a little....ok alot....other then that drove it normally....i didn`t tale it over 3000 rpm. i hoping just the thermostat. i do not see any coolant leaks. anything else it could be?

actually not that cold right now. outside temps are about 40F. has been last couple of days....when it was colder out, had all kinds of heat....

you cant trust the factory guage...theyre idiot lights w/ a pointer.
something like autoenginuity would allow you to read the actual
water temp.

yeah i know that, but i don`t have the heat i did before...i am figuring that the thermostat is stuck open.i was just wondering if it might be something else, do to the fact this is my first diesel truck....thanxs for input....
