I noticed something yesterday when filling up with ULSD that you guys might find interesting. For the last 10 years I have had to put the fuel nozzle on low or it would click off(yeah I should have did the filler neck mod). I noticed that with the new ULSD I can put the nozzle on wide open and it will just flow. The low sulfur stuff must not foam as much as the old stuff or something? Are you guys noticing the same thing or is this just the ULSD up here? I knew something good would come out of this new fuel :D Took less than half the time to fill up :sweet

Might it be related to winter blend Crumm? I've noticed my last two fill ups to be excessively foamy for some reason.

I guess it might be #1 related more than ULSD related. Up here the only ULSD available is #1 and it will be some time before they make anything else. Are you still getting #2 or blended?

Hey Crumm,

Have you noticed a significant fuel milage drop w/ this new fuel?

I cant tell whether it is the ULSD or the #1 (or both), but I have noticed in the last month or so my needle moves alot more than it used to.... Any ideas?

My mileage has dropped, I think it is a combination of things. Winterblend fuel is always lower mileage and I do believe one of the downers with ULSD is lower mileage.

I've noticed the ULSD smells like latex paint. I have noticed a big drop in mileage too but am beginning to think it may be more related to my Edge program. I've removed it so we'll see.

I don't put on enough miles to even check the mileage so I have no idea if it is up or down. I have more idle time warming the truck up at work that I do driving time. I fill up about once a month during the winter.

Braggart! :laugh Kevin, drive that beast. Yeah, I'm using ULSD #2 to blend down to B50-B75 but haven't noticed any smell difference. My mileage actually increases with this new formulated dino because bioD has less BTUs per gallon. BTW, I'm doing the filler neck mod on my front tank because I'm sick and tired of veggie oil spitting back at me when I fill up. It takes at least 10 minutes.
