I changed the bypass filer today and boy was the old one filthy. My fluid is clear but not as red as I would have wanted it to be. It is very clear and has no solids suspended in the fluid so I assume the bypass filter is doing the cleaning as it should be doing. I topped off with the Valvoline but I think I need to drain as much of the old fluid out and the top off with the Valvoline.

How does it smell? Does it smell burnt?
