New to the forum, need help already. Just installed new Luk clutch upgrade and rebuilt 5 speed in my 1997 F350 2wd,dually. Have to push through the firewall to engage safety start switch. Bushing at clutch rod seems okay with just a slight right to left movement. Need some ideas on what to try next. Almost forgot, 200k. Thanks.
Had similiar issues this week--after doing all the lingage things to the pedal etc..., including the little bushing on the end of the master rod(supposidly $3 at the stealership was $7+ for the little piece of plastic)and pulling the fork, bleeding the slave. Problem returned--Cause was 2 broken bolts on press plate. I bitc^$d when I got my parts from Swamp (no ill feelings-great place to deal-GOOD people)cause they were MADE in
CHINA! At any rate I was in a bind and installed the KIT(f-wheel,clutch, p-plate and throw out-new MADE IN CHINA BOLTS). Torqued, loctited etc and was fat dumb and happy, yet concerned. Well, The concerns were well founded! Isay all that to say this--BUY AMERICAN.I do think the imported parts are inferrior and cheaper is not always better. Was a PITA to remove the broken grade 8 bolts. What next
Fat-Dumb and happy again
