Had the PO299 code come up again after towing. Took it to the dealer and they finally said they would rebuild the turbo, clean the egr and install somekind of oil baffle to help with blowby oil cloging up the turbo vanes. They also asked if I would use the Ford cetane boost and cleaner cuz they have had very good luck with it keeping everything clean after a rebuild.

I've also learned from our site here that we should keep the oil level at 1/2 way between the min. and max. to help w/ blowby. I believe this means 1 quart less than the spec.'s I have used Stanadyne Performance Formula since new and have had good results, original injectors still (knock wood). I'd like to hear more about this baffle. Wouldn't it impede airflow?

You needed to have the heads checked. I got that code last time the heads popped on my truck.

The egr baffle kit was discused in a 6.0 engine thread but hasn't been tested long enough for results to be posted. Might as well be another guinea pig in the bunch. I havn't lost any coolant but I'll ask about head gaskets.
