I wish the other states had a system like Alaska's. You Alaskans have it lucky on the part. At those of us in the lower 48 don't have to worry about the extra cold winters and the (almost) 24 hours of darkness during the winter. If you stick it all (or most of it) in savings and it will really add up over the years. Not a bad deal at all. Congratulations on having this option. There's nothing like having "free" money coming your way.
