Looking at a 96

Hey guys,

I am looking at a 96, F-250, CC, 4wd, SWB, 7.3L PSD. It has 119,000 and is in pretty good shape. Anybody know what that stock HP & TRQ is on the 96? What chip would you put in (only looking for the tow setting)?

on my 97 it says on the valve cover that the stock hp is 225 not sure about the torque though

If i remember right the 1996 is 215 and 425 and the 1997 is 225 and 450.

Yep 96' is 215hp.

If you plan on toeing with a chip I would first recommend a pyrometer so you can keep an eye on your EGT's

no sure, but I think the only difference is what rpms they rated it at. But my 97 does say 225 on the vc.

For a real world est, bone stock at the wheels you could probably expect about 175 hp, as for tourqe i don't know, but shouldn't have to much tourqe loss, I'm thinking around 420 at the wheels.
