I notice gauges mentioned several times. What is it about gauges that are such a good modification to have...enlighten me please.

Mostly as a safety or engine protection feature. Many of us are using programmers or chips to alter (increase) fuel delivery into the engine. If you add fuel above what the stock programming allows for you need to monitor several points on the engine so you dont damage components. Boost and exhaust temps are the two key points to monitor.

I'll resurrect this one. Ive got way too many mods to try and pick the top 5 so i'll group things together .

1. Twin turbos. Man what an improvement over running a big single. bye bye surge, no more laggy slow spooling pig turbo and egt's are freakin awesome.

2. built engine.

3. built trans.

4. Sound system. diamond audio compenents, sub and amps and a sweet clarion touch screen dvd nav.

5. TW chip. w/o it the truck would be nearly impossible to drive with the huge single shot injectors and other mods.


Im hoping i'll have the truck back together in time for the north tx rally next month. if it gets tuned by tw, i'll probably take it to the 1/8th there by the koa and see what i will do.

gotta change my top 5 ever so slightly now...

1.) injectors--- turbo spools like a crazy mother

2.) guages--- engine would be blown right now if not for the EGT guage

3.) got rid of the gutted cat and put in a straight pipe and the 3" dp. sounds wayyyy better now

4.) traction bars

5.) VAL-AIR KEVLAR/CERAMIC CLUTCH!!!! no more slipping clutch at 70mph!!

soon to come after a possible tranny rebuild and some front end work---- 17* HPOP (17* parts in my 15* housing so i dont have to mill the front cover) and definitely a DP-TUNER. edge is getting annoying because of the outragous egt's, hitting 1200* by the time i get to about 65-70mph if i floor it from a stop
