see my previous post...those are NOT ODBII codes...in fact theyre
not much of anything useful they are dash cluster codes at best.

ummm, my 02's 7.3 were dead on at the end of the run dtc's.
but as mentioned i would also get it scannned, dealer, auto shack etc

now the 6.0 i have never been able to get the ecm to go into test mode useing this procedure.

Ok, Bush, Ok. I'm not debating it. A suggestion was made, I followed it. I'll take it to the dealer. Just figured this was the place to go first. Talk to you guys later.

no harm meant...i was apparently performing an edit on my
post (adding to it & providing link info)...i meant nothing
by my post other than to call your attn. to my edit/update.

the link provided has ALL the ODBII codes for our trucks, youll
notice that the code you pulled off the dash display is neither listed
nor in "range" of the "legit" codes.

Truck shifted itself into tow / haul at highway speeds, trans gauge has no reading, tow haul light flashing. Check gauge light on. Will move but shifts harshly in tow / haul. :dunno

Transmittion Temperature Sensor. Mine did the same thing in August. They have to replace the sensor (in the pan).

Its all good, Bush. Its at a very reputable transmission shop. The owner's a truck guy and they advertise in all the diesel mags, so I'm confident they will figure it out.

Yeah, I thought that it was the sensor too. We'll see. Its at probably THE BEST place it could be. There's apparently more wrong than meets the eye. I'll keep this thread updated.

Update: Planetary gearset cracked, metal in valve-body. Sensor has metal shavings in it. Thats why it shorted. Went and looked at the mess tonite. Shops going to run some options by me tomm. That trans isn't all that big, but what a mountain of pieces. May just flush, replace bad gearset, and re-seal. Or maybe not....:sly
