My stock 02 F350 seems to have a lot of height difference between
the front and back end. I spoke to a local spring shop and they told
me it was normal. But I'd like to level it up abit. Since I have leafs on
this year it's alittle expensive.
But I'd really appreciate some input on what brand springs to use and
if I've over looked some reason I shouldn't do it. Thanks!

I have the same setup as you do. I tried Pro-Comp Springs (4wheelparts.com) and finally dumped them after a year. They sagged. I them went with Ford X-code springs and they did what I wanted, a 2" lift in the front. I am very happy with those springs. They are not cheap, but no lift for these trucks is.

Thanks Dave. Sorry for the slow reply but, I'm the proud grandfather of a new grandson and was ushered off by GRANDMA to assist with the move home from the hospital.
I'll talk to one of our local Ford dealer about the X code springs and see what they have to say. Do you know why Ford created the X code springs? Just wondering what application they were OE on?
Thanks again!

Dave, one other question. Do you know if I need to change anything else other than the springs, like the trackbar? I saw acouple of leveling kits that include either an adjustable trackbar or some sort of bracket to reuse the origanal.

Congraulations Grandpa! I hope everybody is doing very well!

Ford offers the X Code springs and that is all I know about them. With a lift this small you do not need any other items. It will all work with this lift. Any bigger then you would be looking at adjustable links for the track bar and for longer shocks.

I believe the x code springs are from an eXcursion..... little bit stiffer to handle the extra weight of the suv. Or they may be for the snow plow trucks. I just put an add a leaf in mine, a local spring shop makes them. They cost around a hundred bucks or so.

I spoke to a local spring shop and the wanted about $600 for new springs. I'm still going to talk to Ford and see what they say.

Tell them (Ford) you want a price on these stock springs (X-springs) they were used on the F-450's:

(2) 2C3Z-5310-AF Springs -- $154.32 ea

(4) F81Z-5705-ZA U-Bolts -- $15.88 ea

(8) N805480-S426 Nut -- $1.86 ea

As Dave said, a lot of us are using them.

A F-450 you say, Barrett? Thanks for that information. How have you been? I have not seen you here in a while.

Dave :)
