Im new here, normally on F150 site but my new 01 f250 seems to be leaking diesel out the back of the fuel filter housing somewhere around the drain valve. I changed out the filter and made sure its not leaking from there, and checked the 4 torx bolts on the housing for the drain valve and still leaking. Is there a common place for a leak that I need to look at. Thanks for any information, and great site.

Sounds like the common drain valve o-ring leak. The leak usually comes out the drain tube that comes from the yellow drain valve. Once you get the new o-rings and torx driver, it's about a 10 minute job.

Thanks, Ill try that first then and see if that solves my issue. Are the o rings located inside the black drain housing?

you undo the (4) torx machine screws and remove the drain housing. On the backside (next to where it butts against the fuel filter housing) you will find the "O" rings. Replace these and reinstall the drain. If my sometimers hasn't kicked in this should be right.
Hope this helps. Joe

"o" rings should be all you need for a fix.

You'll likely find these guys a lot more affordable than Ford:
Diesel O RIngs

I never go to Ford if I can find an alternative.

Case in point: When I was still working parts at the RV dealer, I was trying to chase down a 2" reciever hitch for a 2008 Ford Explorer Sport Track. I looked every place I could think of Reese, Valley/Husky, Hidden Hitch, Curt but NOBODY made one for it except Ford. $1000 for a hitch you can get for $200 or less for any other kind of vehicle. Given that information, the customer decided they didn't want a camper that bad afterall.

Make sure you get the one for the stem also. You don't want to have to do this twice. :)
