My buddy has an 04 it seems real lazy from 0-20 mph, he can't spin the tires on dirt. He had the codes read, i don't have the numbers but it came up with 2 and 1 had something to do with egr. It also has a banks 6 gun and it doesn't do anything, he says it seems to work best on level 2. How many horse should he be able to get out of it with just intake and exhaust? Anybody got any ideas as to why its so lazy?
Thanks,
Allen

The banks on level 6 should have a gain of 138hp and 238ft/lbs. You will definitely feel it if it is on. If there is a trouble code thrown by the truck, depending on the code, the banks will turn its tuning off, and revert to factory tune as a safety measure. On the top of the banks unit under the hood there is a couple of led's that will flash in a specific pattern to tell you which code is on.
http://assets.bankspower.com/manuals/107/96450.pdf
Starting on page 24 of this pdf is instructions on identifying the flashing led's and a list of the codes for the 6-gun.
I would imagine whatever code was on when he had it scanned is what is causing the 6-gun to go into safety mode.

Hope this helps!

Will the led's flash all the time that there is a code or do you have to do something, truck running? The banks makes a difference, I'm not sure if it's 140hp, does yours smoke? I don't think the truck is right stock, it won't spin the tires on gravel. Will you get the full 140hp withou any other mods to the truck?

The gains that banks advertises are with an intake and exhaust. turn the key to on but do not start the engine. green light should flash with cold engine, once the engine reaches op temp, the green light will stay on all the time. If it is ok, the red led will never be on. If there is no lights, the banks is not getting power. If that is the case, check the fuse on the banks harness and for power it should either be tapped into the ecu harness or it will be tapped off of the fusebox under the dash. Also make sure the obd interface plug is plugged in under the dash. The way you describe the power does not sound good at all. I suspect there are problems with the truck that are keeping the banks from working 100%. You said one of the codes was an egr code, what was the other one? Mine smokes a little bit on a cold start but goes away after a minute or so of running.
