Killing the kitty caused our coolant to run over on 3 trucks.

Very hard to believe, Unless they've been chipped..

The loss of the cat will let the VGT solenoid adjust the vanes on the turbo to build more boost, sooner. Thats it. And thats why we do it (as well as the cool sound :sweet ). Diesels do not need backpressure.

Mine sounds different inside the cab, but it is not annoying. The turbo whistle in the 2004's is much less than the 2003's due to the turbo changes. It is fairly "throaty" from 2000RPM and up.

I have the DPPI cat back dual set up on my 04 and there is zero noise difference in the cab. Now when you get on it with the Windows down it sounds like a big block with a serous growl. Put the windows back up and its back to normal

Hope this helps

One of these days the down pipe will go on and the kitty will run away :roflmao :sweet :D

OK, I know this is a stupid question, BUT what advantages does one get with going to a Cat back system??
OR do you need to upgrade your intake too???

Come take a ride in mine. I guarantee you won't want yours quiet! :thumbs

DPPI, (MBRP now), Duals, no Cat, 03 Turbo! :sweet

(However, if you have to have it quiet, MBRP, with the cat, you won't notice a lot of difference with your 05 Turbo).

Barrett

I agree with Barrett. The only difference is his truck is an '03 and mine is an '04. From what I've heard the '04 has less turbo whistle. Get the MBRP turbo back duals and loose the cat.
