Just thought I'd let you all know what I decided on. Got a Dell Studio 1555. Intel Core II 2.2 GHz processor, 6GB memory, 15.6" high def (720p) LED display, 500G SATA hard drive. Also has Windows 7, and Microsoft office 2007 home and student. Got it for about $1,000. I like it so far. Thanks to everyone who offered their advise.
