Laptop charger EXTREMELY hot!!

Reached down to move it and the thing actually burned my hand! What is going on? It is an HP charger.

My Toshiba charger gets real hot too.

My Toshiba gets hot, but not enough to burn my hand. Check with HP to see if they have a recall on the charger. HP United States - Computers, Laptops, Servers, Printers and more

I didnt find any recalls. I modified the charger with some legs so that it would sit off the table a little that way i could get air flow on all four sides. We'll see if that makes much of a difference.

I have an HP Pavilion dv7. My charger started doing that, I called in to get a replacement ( still under warranty) 2 days after I got the replacement my original died. Call them NOW.

MY new Gateway laptop does the same thing.... gets hot too! Maybe they all do that?

They all get hot to some degree, but mine burned my hand also. Plus the replacement was free!

If yours is getting too hot to handle, take it back and get another one. The factories don't want to cause a fire and get sued. They should replace it.

Just called Gateway about mine and they said it was normal and they would not replace mine, go figure......
