After taking a direct hit from a F-3 tornado March 28, 2000 what was once Ft Worths tallest tower is being imploded this morning.

honestly one thing i dont understand is that the asbestos had to be removed to rebuild the building,which is i know is costly and all kinds of rules and regulations are involved.but its ok to blow it up and let the asbestos fly all over the place?

Building has some strange codes that are followed, or not. I question some of the nailing schedules on shear panel. Seems to me that too many nails will weaken the structure more than the benefit of the nailing.

Saw it live on WFAA Channel 8, was pretty impressive. I heard later in the day that the spot will be used for a parking lot for now.

Pretty neat wasn't it - even though it reminded me somewhat of the WTC on 9-11....

Glad it was somewhat misty rain....

Glad I don't have to clean that up. Rain + Dust = Big mess. Can you imagine what the neighboring buildings look like? The window washers are going to be busy..
