What is the best way to install a kill switch?

not really a "switch" but the most reliable way to choke a diesel is with a intake (air) shut off

it is like a valve that blocks air from the intake and suffocates your engine... most all of the pullers use something like this

this type of engine kill will also protect it from a run away... however unlikely that is

Im assuming you mean to prevent theft?

Install a switch on the CPS. No Tach signal, no start . It will crank, but no start.

Install a switch on the brake wire. If the brake wire is switched, you cant shift the truck out of Park. (auto only). Truck runs, but cant drive.

Install a switch on the starter relay. Truck wont crank.

As a matter of fact, let me explain further. With the chip I paln on getting I will have to disable PATS. So I'm looking for a way to keep the truck from starting.
I am extremely open to alternate suggestions.

oops i though you was referring to pulling or the drags... daryl's ideas sound like they would fit your application then

Is it possible you could PM me or post a "how to" at your convenience of course. I have much confidence that you can lead me in the right direction seeing you got my fog lights hooked up a heck of a lot better that how I planned on doing it.
