Order my superchips programmer today. Got it for $330+shipping. I finally convince my wife that it was worth the $350 for the programmer. I dont usually have to get approval to spend a few hundred dollars, but when it comes to truck upgrades she wants to know about ever penny. Here is how I convinced her, incase any of you need help.

Assume the programmer helps me get just 1 mpg increase, we would save roughly $6 every time I filled up with diesel(@$3 per gallon).

Tank is roughly 32 gallons.

Current MPG = 16 -> 512miles if i ran to empty

At 17 MPG, I could go 544miles to empty.

that is a 32 mile difference. At 16mpg that is 2 gallons I will save in fuel, and at $3 a gallon I will save roughly $6 every time I fill up.

Since I fill up every 5-7 days, I can make up the cost of the programmer in about 1 year. Makes since to me.:thumbs

Thats one way to justify it.....

Don't forge the loss of mileage your going to get by flogging your truck every chance you get.

Nah, not really my style especially with all the graphics for my business down the side. Cant drive like a maniac when your a rolling billboard. Worst thing I do is drive in the 90's on open highway every once in a while. I not much for burnouts or heavy throttling my daily driver.

"When it comes to truck upgrades she wants to know about every penny" Tell her when it comes to female upgrades you want to know every penny. Including: make-up, hair care products, manicures, pedicures, salon visits, seasonal items, candles, decorations, cards, stationary, clothes, shoes, matching accesories, etc. That programmer cost you less than the average Coach hand-bag. :roflmao

ok thats kind what i figured....i can squeeze in about 39 almost 40
gallons.

its no secret that im not found of these tuners (i think its the
beginning of alot of folks reliablity problems) but to each his own.

I dont see that you have have gauges...and i would ABSOLUTELY
recommend that you install at least an EGT gauge before
you add that programmer....it wouldnt be a bad idea to have
a tranny gauge either (if youre an automatic)

I probably will add gauges, but not right away.

I would assume most of the issue that make you not like programmers are related to people turning the tuner to max levels and driving their truck hard. I am going to set it to the lowest setting possible, and I rarely ever drive my truck hard or tow so I do not forsee any issues.

i would honestly recommend gauges BEFORE you add the programmer...
itll give you a "base line".

I've got a 2 gauge pod (a-pillar mount) you can have if that helps...

Take Bushes advise. Not to tell one his business, but a Pyro and Tranny Guage will save you guessing on things. On my programmer I only have it set on 75+ and when I stand on it getting on the freeway I like to see what the EGT temps are doing. Congrats on the Programmer. You will really enjoy it. If you are not going to run Gauges keep it in the Eco. setting and you will be alright.
