RED, re: the blow by from the CAC tubes...wipe it off (the hoses) &
tighten the clamps down...you might REDUCE the "leakage" (but in my
opinion/experiance you wont completely stop it.)

you should unload (jack-up) the front end to check bushings and bearings. Weight on it can "pull" both wheels out ward taking up all the "slop" your checking for (if there is any) put both ende of the axle on jackstands and shake away:)

on the leaf spring thing, they are rated at different weights and spring rates so the swap you are talking about would alter the ride quality and load capacity drastically... If they are even the same physical dimensions in the first place, I've never speced out these types of trucks before so I don't know.

bush- i did wipe off as much as my fat little fingers could reach. did not tighten tho. dealer said 'no'. i will now watch for 'more' leakage. if it does, i will then twist w/ a wrench a little.

yellow-this was just a thought i had. would be interesting to find out what/how things would change - if someone wanted to be the guinea pig..:D the rear would lower, not much and i would think the front would raise a little.:dunno

and i did jack up the drivers side, put on a stand and shook tire. it DID not move. crawled under and banged on the links/bushings & shock. nothing was loose or out of the ordinary. certainly did not look like the guys truck dealer had hoisted up and used to show me bad links/bushings. this guys were bad -it was obvious. mine look 100% swell. :dunno i even looked for broke/loose, missing, bolts/nuts. found none. don't know where this rattle is coming from.-mad

youre not gonna be able to move that sway bar by shaking the tire...no way !
the rattling of the wheel is a technique used to test for BEARING wear &
ball joint slop.

re bushings

the bushings on my 04 were replaced (Ford at the dealership..I know but it was toooo darn cold) at very low mileage and that sure fixed the "banging noise at every little bump". Have put a ton of miles on since and no problems with the replacements. I would have preffered the ones from Summit Racing tho...:\
