Just died??

Coming into work this morning the truck just shut down. Tried to restart it nothing, had dash lights and power to the fuse box. But the started would do nothing. Had it towed to the dealer hoping the warrenty will cover it.

WELL!!! They said the EGT sensor is bad. So I'm shelling out 300 bucks to fix it. What gets me is why would that keep the truck from starting. It should have gone into limp mode?? Am I thinking right here??

What I was told when I asked about the motor shutting down was that there is a message that comes up and says "Pull over safely and shut down motor." Well that never happened and that could be a very big problem if you were going down a hill with a load.

Here is the part number.Ford Part: SENSOR - EXHAUST GAS
Part NO.: 8C3Z-5J213-D

This was th fix for the flames coming out the tell pipe.

I just had that same sensor replaced. Truck has 62K miles and it was done under warranty. But mine went into limp mode; didn't shut down on me.
