Harbor Freight has aluminum 3 ton for $30 each. Are they stout enough for our trucks?

I would be VERY careful about Harbor Freight in general and more suspect about the Aluminum Jack Stands for our trucks!!!

No way RSG. Harbor freight CAN be great for it's REAL value.

Those throw away consumables that everyone uses. ( latex gloves, cutoff wheels, sandpaper, wire brushes ) everyday things that when they break or go bad you say so what, only cost a buck and grab another one.

Betting your LIFE on anything from there and everyone here would a bad human being even for suggesting you use that stuff.

We'd much rather you spend a couple extra bux and get something SAFE.

That way we can have you around for hopefully many years to come.:sweet

I have nothing against Harbor Freight. You just have to keep in mind the concept of you get what you pay for. I have a 12 ton press from them that I used for pressing ball joints last fall. Yea, it's cheap, but it got the job done.

But aluminum jack stands?? I think I'd stick with the heavy duty steel ones. I'm guessing the ones you're looking at are made of cast aluminum. No way in hell would I trust my health & safety on something like that. I'm sure Harbor Freight also sells HD steel jacks stands.

The harbor in Harbor Freight is the Port of Los Angeles.
Most everything they sell was made in China.
That should tell you enough about trusting your life under their jack stands.
