They say it is the high pressure fuel pump. Has anyone else had this issue or am I the lucky one?

the 6.4L doesnt use an HPOP ? its not HUEI injected... like the 7.3 & 6.0

the 6.4L uses "common rail" (someone correct me if im wrong in that terminology)

even if it DID have an HPOP and it was leaking down the truck would
either be 1) hard to start or 2) WOULDNT start....which STILL wouldnt
explain why their is fuel in the oil or why the oil level is INCREASING !

there is a HIGH PRESSURE FUEL INJECTION PUMP on the 6.4 but not an HPOP (High Pressure Oil Pump)

Me too. I'll ask when I pick it up tomorrow. They should button it up today and then test drive it tomorrow according to my service guy.

I have handled this much better than I thought I would. I was pretty sure I was going to come unglued. I guess we'll see if we have any other issues.

:hmm i wonder if there is a seal on the pump drive side that could allow fuel to pass into the oil....?

i wonder the same thing....the HP FUEL ;) pump is gear driven...
If i didnt know better (which i dont) id swear they just pulled the HPOP
off and replaced it w/ a FUEL pump...

If its like the HPOP (and it looks like it is) then its STILL driven by
the cam at the back of the motor....wish the pictures were better
so my curiousity could be solved.

its no wonder they needed to implement a fuel "cooler" when you consider
the pump is sitting right under the turbo(S)...

they replaced the high pressure fuel injection pump.

Everything seems good now. they are offering me an extended warranty on the motor for my troubles.

I haven't towed with it yet, but the empty mileage seems about the same.
