Hey guys I'm from the dieselplace the (duramax) board. But my brother in law is looking at a 2000 f250 ext cab with 140,000 miles on it. It is in good condition and looks very clean and he wants 16,800 for it. Is this a good price for a powerstroke? If not what is a good price to offer him?

thanks, I dont know to much about powerstrokes.

If its clean I say yes. That is also one of the preferred years for a 7.3 since it has forged rods.

Phil,

Welcome to SDD, glad to see you here from DP. You didnt mention if it is a 2x4 or 4x4 and what options it is equipped with. Assuming it is a loaded 4x4 XLT thats not a bad price, but as suggested...lowball him. You prolly already know that though. :D

i sure will he hauls rock for his dads rock quarry. hes married to my sister, so we've gotten close and hes been asking about getting a diesel truck. He knows a lot about diesels in the big rigs, but he says he doesnt know a thing about a diesel in a regular truck. So I'll tell him about you all.

Offer 14500 and haggle from there. don't pay more then 16000 most allow room to haggle, I should know I do it as a hobby hehehe.

Good luck get picks, as for a detailed maint record, bounce questions off of him like driving habits, towing, looks are good but they can be deceptive. Treat it like a woman, if it seems to good to be true it is, the screen play will be over and then the truth appears. **** here comes the wife Good luck man.
