i do understand that but if the trailer and cargo are at max of 7000 and the coupler has a max of 5000 i see a problem.

thanks guys. I went down to tennessee and bought a 18' dove tail tandem axel and brakes new weels and ramps from crooked creak marina or tennessee trailers. good buy a good guy and a fun trip. now off to a new thread on how to make it IL leagal.
