I can really use some help, I have an 05 6.0l running an HOT edge platinum and was curios if anyone has upgraded their intercooler yet and if it was worth it. I have spoken with the guys at Banks, they say It won't help as much as it does for the 7.3 or cummins. Any thoughts?? any testimonials??

thanks a ton

The 6.0 has a great intercooler and there is no upgrade that I know of yet. You have about the biggest intercooler you can get. Maybe your programmer is the problem.

The Banks techni-cooler can be purchased as part of the Banks bundle, or on its own. I have one, its a big difference. By itself, maybe not. But with other mods, its apparent. Spearco also sells one for the 6.0 :sweet

I have an 05 KR 4x4 CC SWB. I have all of the Banks upgrades (exhaust system, six-gun, speed loader, etc). The truck ran fine but would de-fuel sometimes (Banks safety feature) if the EGT's got too high when pulling my 8K trailer over mountain passes. I added the Banks techni-cooler and saw my EGT's drop on average 200 degrees. Now I can pull the same trailer over the same passes without ever taking my foot out of it. You won't notice a lot of difference if you add the techni-cooler running empty, but pulling a load you will see an improvement.

There is a Ford bulletin about getting false water temp readings in the upper range on the gauge. Mine did it, showed just in the red when pulling a heavy load in the mountains, though it really wasn't getting hot. They replaced the gauge cluster and the problem went away.
