Either will work

You can use any intercooler from 99-06, i.e. any 7.3 or 6.0, not sure but you might be able to use one from a 6.4

as far as modifications, trim the core support to allow the cooler tubes to pass through. some fabrication of mounts and you'll need new tubes, the ones from a superduty will not work for you. You will also need an intake spider (covers the air leaving the turbo and going into the intake plenums) only the early '99 intake spyder will bolt into your truck, you can put a 99+ 7.3 intake spider on your truck but you will need to upgrade the intake plenums to 3" intakes, which will require some modification (beating with hammer) to clear your turbo.

I'm not sure the flange on the 99+ spider will match our turbo (the early 99 spider will). You used to be able to get the early 99 part for about $105, but now they want over $400! A Banks spider for 94-97 trucks will also work. If you like, PM me your email address and I can send you a Word document with a decent writeup on the Intercooler install from GTS (I don't think its available on the web anymore). Cheers!

Would it work to cut a hole and weld a pipe fitting onto the existing spider, or is there more to it? $400.00 for a spider is crazy-mad-retarded.
