Just wondering if anyone else has changed the inter cooler, installed an after market, and does it really help like they say it does?

Banks has theirs on sale and I couldnt resist so I have one coming, will be here on 12/17.

Yes it will help, but the changes will not be as apparent at a lightly loaded cruise situation vs a towing/ hard acceleration situation.

I put a different intercooler in. But I couldn't justify $1200 or more for an intercooler. So I did the budget intercooler upgrade and put in a 6.0 version in my 7.3 truck. If I recall, I did the whole thing using new parts for something like $350.

meeeee too it helped out some ... but i think if you got a after market one ... i was reading some where or in a vidieo that it dropped all most 40'f off the tab ... so .. they do help ... but i dont have really big power yet so im not really in the market ... for that or towing every day ...so .. it a good idea .. but liek how gunner said .. i can get my self to spend 1200 on a intercooler

The 05 has a better cooling system, I Think, Mine with Std Tranny never heats up enough in hills for the fan to come on.
