Insulating a Camper Shell

Has anyone ever done any kind of insulation on their camper shell? We drive to Az a few times each summer and the dogs ride in the back. I'm going to get the windows on the shell tinted to help keep the sun out, but I was thinking about insulating the shell itself as well. It's just thin fiberglass so I would imagine anything would help. I was thinking of using the Lizardskin ceramic insulation. I know there's only so much that can be done, but I figure every little bit helps.

there's a company called hothead headliners that makes headliners for jeeps because they have no insulation. Might see if they could make you something? My parents have this in their wrangler and it has made a night and day difference in the inside temp.

Or maybe foam type of spray on insulation. Ask an insulation installer if they can do it.

Some caps have fabric headliners, which definitely help. I would also recommend getting one of those inflatable camper sheel window boots, that way some of the A/C can get into the back, but that also means your dog will be slobbering all over your shoulder.

I have a crew cab, so I they wouldn't be on my shoulder. My kids would be a different story.

Guess I should update this, I contacted some places, but naturally no one makes a "drop in" insulation. The is to get the Lizard Skin ceramic since it's something I can do at home. Unfortunately life got in the way and time got away from me. So for the last trip of the summer I attached one of those water bottles for kennels to the wire mesh blocking the side window and I had the big back window tinted. The tint made a noticable difference in the temp of the bed. The dogs weren't panting as hard as they were without the tint. I think things will get really good for them with the insulation and the side windows tinted.
