OK guys....

The UPS man has delivered a a few new toys over the past few days. I listed in a previous post. The guages arrived today(boost, pyro, and tranny) , I was told someone had links to some very good detailed instructions on the easiest and best ways to install each. I just cant remember who.....I am new so I get confused with who is who. thanks...my wrench hand is getting itchy. Too many toys sitting on the living room floor when they should be under the hood.

Thanks guys....those are a great help. When you open a box with all the guages and wires it intimidates you. those links really simplify it. I dont know why it shook me, I think nothing of chopping a bike frame then taking it on a test rip at 75 mph...I cant wait to get my hands dirty. This site is great...my bank account is going to suffer greatly.

I went ahead and wired everything together, put everything together that didn't require my truck the noght before I installed them in my truck. I just left lots of slack in the wires, and lableled them, then slid them down the side of the dash and pressed the A-Pillar into place. Then hooked everything up. One thing I read that helped was to start with small hole when installing EGT probe and work your way up to the size you need. And use a shop-vac in between each hole to suck out any shavings in the manifold.

You are referring to the drivers side manifold install correct?

The best thing to do is plunge the drill bit into a can of axle grease. The grease will catch most all of the shavings. I would not start with a small hole. I would drill it the appropiate size to start with. If you have a good sharp bit, drill slow, and press firm there wont be many shavings anyway. The cast iron will drill easy and mine spun off two long shavings the entire time I drilled. Also coat the 1/8NPT tap with axle grease, work it slowly. If you feel any kind of bind, back up one turn, and start again. Then once you have the hole tapped you can use a shop vac if you like. Mine went so smooth I didn't even use the shop vac.

You tapped directly into the exhaust manifold on the drivers side, before the flange for the pipe? The pyro guage is the only one that looks at all tough. Did you wire all the power, illumination and ground lines together then to their sources? Or should they all be seperate?

A very good set of install instructions can be found here --------->CLICK ME!

They are for a 94-97 model truck, but they are basically the same.

on the second part, I think you are asking if you can "daisy chain" them? If thats what your asking then yes, you can.

I did the clamp method instead of the Drill-tap. I couldn't find my tap when I was doing my install so I just used the clamp. So far so good!
