installing an overhead console

I just bought an overhead console and I am about ready to install it. The truck didn't come with one and I want to install it. I have read on here and got some instuctions on how to do the wiring but I am not sure where to cut the head liner and how to mount the bracket to hold up the console? I have read that people have done it so I am question you guys for help. Do the bracket that hold the console just screw into something about the head liner or do I have to make something? I have not pulled down the head liner because I don't have alot of time and I want to do it all in one shoot.

what year console, what year truck ?
youll need to drop the headliner (which i can tell you isnt the most fun
ive ever had).

I recall some mounting hardware (forget if it was welded or attached
the the roof)...

it is an 03 I am not sure what year the console cause my friend took it out of one he found in a junk yard for me.
