I installed fog lights on my truck the other day and now it wont even crank or click in my solenoid on the fender. i replaced the solenoid and the neutral safety switch and used a different ignition switch that i know was good. i am getting 5.5 volts through my ignition line to the solenoid with the key completely off and even with it in the start position. also my windows quit working at the same time. this truck is my work and i need it fixed asap. im to the point of pputting a push button on it to jumped the solenoid. what i dont get is the windows too. any and all help is much appreciated. thanks in advanced

Check all your fuses, under dash and under hood. Where did you tap into for the fog light power ?

Sounds like you have a permanent drain on the batteries. They are almost dead and need to be charged. Find the drain before you have to go anywhere. Good luck!

Don't remember what the fuse was for but I think it was the fifth one down on the left side under the dash whatever number it was it was a 10 amp fuse. All fuses are good. Ive gone through them honestly 6 times or better. Batteries are good. When I jump the solenoid it cranks like it should. Another thing I did when i installed them was tighten the bolts up that keep the wire harness in the computer on the firewall. Whats with my Windows too?

Maybe a blown fuse link. They start at the passengers battery + Cable and go to things like the windows. The fuse in the link is next to where it connects to the + cable.

First off remove the power wire to the fog lights and see if you still have the drain on the system, if not then it is in the fog light wireing somewhere. I don't know how you wired the system so other trouble shooting is going to take a lot of patients. If the above quick test dosen't work (ah scit) then try and find the drain. Hope this helps Joe

Did you drill any hole? If so check around the holes for any cut wires.
Also do you have a alarm system? If so check the relays and fuses on the alarm.
