injector 8 keeps going out

I have a buddy that has a 2004 f250 with about 170,000miles on it no intake system, has a 4" exhaust and quadzilla prog on it, he took it to the shop and they replaced injector 1 and 8 about a week later the truck starts shaking and running bad. He took it back they replaced inj 8 under warranty, after a few days the truck starts shaking again and they tell him inj 8 is out again. What was cause something like this? thanks bob

Bad fuel maybe does he use any additive? Change fuel filters regularly?

The mechanic may be putting in JUNK injectors... Spend the money and get a real injector!!

also has a failed #8 injector, leading to the "sluggish" complaint..

it has been stated that replacing an injector may renew a bad connection that will reapear shortly

Possibly low fuel pressure since it is at the end of the fuel rail. The fuel pressure regulators often times need the spring replaced (or shimmed). A fuel pressure gauge is a VERY handy thing to have.
