My first thoughts about the "recent" head gasket/head stud/regulated fuel return system that was done on my engine are this.

The engine has a definate different sound to it now. But its a good sound, not bad. The fuel system makes a cool swooshing sound when you mash on the go go pedal, almost sounds like an air hose leaking.

As you REV it up at idle, it sounds so mean :thumbs When you are on the road, it accelerates nicely thru all the gears. Now mind you, I only have the SCT on the 30hp tune, but it works nicely with all the new stuff.

I do need to get a fuel pressure gauge for the regulator under the hood. Anybody have any suggestions as to our vendors that could supply me with one? I am dissappointed it didnt come with one for what I paid for it.

My total bill for all of the engine build was 1417.09.

700.00 for labor (based on 14 hours for a HG job)
717.09 for parts, which was for the following:

1. HG kit
2. New glow plug harness (the old one was shot)
3. Belt tensioner pulley (bearings were bad)
4. Fuel filter internal part (dont know the name, but it was busted up)

So over all, I am very pleased with how things are working out.

Most of all, just glad to have my PSD back. :thumbs

In a van down by the river...
ITP Diesel sells a DiPricol Optix electric in-cab fuel pressure gauge that is pretty slick. They're not cheap, but it beats running the block/tubing to have a safe mechanical fuel pressure gauge. POKE HERE.

Sweet deal Bama. Glad that you are enjoying your truck again. Can wait to hear some sound clips.

:thumbs Well after taking the family out to eat tonight and going to Lowe's and Wally World, I am really enjoying the truck again. Seems to maybe be just a tad of power increase, but not much.

The engine does seem to run alot smoother than before and the power is alot more responsive. I would have to say that the regulated fuel system is a good thing.
