Hello all, this is my first post here although i have been reading these forums for a while. I have had my 1993 cummins for about 5 years now and have just recently purchased a 1997 crew cab Shortbed 5 speed for the way better room it has. :thumbs Now my delima is that i dont know much about bombing a powerstroke:dunno Athough i am right at home working and upgrading a 12v cummins.:D I have about 1400 dollars to spend. So fill me in as to a few good worthwhile mods. Truck is stock with 140k miles except for gauges. so lay it on me guys

Welcome to the site..

twildman programmed chip, Tymar intake, 3" Downpipe, Straight 4" exhaust and a set of injectors should just about take care of that $1400.

If you use some good chip programming with a set of stage ones from Bean or a set of Baby Swamps, egt's will not be a problem.

Welcome to the site Wade. First, you are going to find out that the 7.3 PSD isnt as easy to bomb as a 12V. Thats just the facts. But, they are very bombable <---- is that a word?

Crumm has you pretty well covered in the performance dept. Do the exhaust and intake first then move on to the chip. If thats not enough for you, injectors are a good investment especially since you have 140K on your current squirters. A set of Stg I's are under $700.00 I think. When you are towing, just keep an eye on your EGT's, keep them under 1250/1300 degrees, keep your RPM's up, this is a V-8 and it likes boost and RPM's, both will keep your EGT's in check.

You can get ahold of Wildman at totaldieselperformance.com or 405-818-6365. Beansdieselperformance.com can set ya up with an intake and exhaust.
