Just kidding guys!!! I have a 2007 F-250 4wd crew cab with a 2.5" leveling kit and 4" blocks on the rear end. Bone stock 6.0psd with 600 miles on the clock. What kind of gas mileage could I expect out this bad boy. I'm selling my '01 super duty with a V10 that gets a whopping 9mpg downhill with wind pushing me, ha ha. I'm currently getting on the average about 14-15mpg with the '07.

around town i see 15-16 on average (and thats takin' it easy).
out on the interstate, long haul, ive seen between 18 & 20.

there are a few that get more than 20...ive seen 21-22 ONCE...and that
was w/ the cruise set at 58mph

ive seen as little as 13 @ 80mph towing a 20' (open) trailer w/ 3300lbs
of sports car and other stuff on the trailer.

Funny, I just left this message on another board this morning. Don't ask which one.

"I get 17.5-18mpg with cruise set at 61-62mph. The tach is at 1750-1800rpm. I have the 3.73? gearing. 79,150+ miles on the truck right now.

My trek to work is 50 miles one way, 100 miles round trip Monday to Friday, all highway mileage. This with the TorqShift automatic transmission.

You need to keep the tachometer needle to the left of 2000rpm to get any kind of mileage.

I do get less when traveling around town due to constant throttle manipulation.

For what its worth:

My truck would get 13-15mpg with cruise set between 70-80mph

My truck would get 16mpg with cruise set at 65mph."

I am averaging 19-20 HWY at 70 mph and 16ish around town, in my 06, 3.73, Auto, crew cab, FX4.

Don't get too worried till it starts breaking in around 12-15k. Boost eats Fuel, try to be easy on it every now and then otherwise drive it like you stole it :burnit :thumbs

Congrats on the new truck

mileage

I have never seen 20 mpg, but have been from 18.5 to 19.2 on open highway at 70 mph, and 2000 rpm. Last trip yesterday, went 160 miles up and down a mountain, and got 17.8 mpg. That is the lowest mileage yet, but due to having fun with Chevy's while setting cruise control on 70 mph, and watching Chevy's pass me going on the flat, and when we hit the 6% grades, seeing the chevy's come back to me and roll on bye them...At one point I saw 18-20 psi on the boost, so I guess there is what lowered my mpg. We are at 4200 miles on the odometer now. I have heard from others on this site that as you get above 15,000 miles on the odometer, the fuel economy gets better.

If you are putting gas in it the mileage ain't going to be very good. I would recommend running Diesel in it and since it is a 07' it should be low sulfur Diesel.

Reasons for buying a truck...

There seems to be two reasons for buying a diesel pickup-

1. I want to look cool and impress all my friends driving my big diesel pickup. (even if I can just barely afford it)

2. I need to move some big loads, trailers, equipment and whatever else. I don't really care what the fuel mileage is, as long as I get the job done.:sweet

If you fit #1, you might be disappointed.:(
If it's #2, and you buy a PSD, you will be very happy :D

in our fleet we currently have 5 old gas 5.8l fords that tow everyday around city prolly 100 miles a day and get about 7 mpgs. We are getting 6.0s and expect to double our mileage so 14 mpg would be wonderfull 17 mpg would be amazing but they are going to have 4.10 rears
