What years does the automatic high-idle apply? I have a 2000 7.3, and have never had it go into automatic high-idle.

Since you have a 6 speed instead of an automatic tranny, you'd have to set the emergency brake with the truck in neutral and then wait a few minutes for it to idle up.

All Superduties 99 and newer will idle up under the right conditions.

Only the 6.0 liter engines go into hi idle in the cold weather.

Dave

My 7.3 goes into high idle afte about 5 minutes or soat 40*+/- or colder. The idle is not as high now with the chip set on level 5 all the time but it still increases to about 880-900 rpm from 697(normal idle in my truck) where as it used to jump to 1000rpm. It may have something to do with the gutted ebpv too I guess, the wiring is still plugged in though. All the rpms are pulled from my AIC
