Did the 02 have tow mode? I dont remember. Something to try If you have tow mode put your truck in it and see if it creep forward. This keep the conveter out of overdrive. If it does then the chances are the conveter is not dropping out of lock up untill your moving.

whats your mileage and has the trans. been power fluished.

I do not have tow mode on my truck, I do have overdrive and it does feel like it's stuck in some kind of low gear. I have 133k miles on the truck and I don't know the history of the tranny, I do intend to have the tranny flushed and fully serviced soon, I am also going to have the computer re programmed next week.

thats a solenoid in the trans. that goes bad not a big fix.
