ICP Sensor

Hey Guys, i had my truck at the dealer the other day having a recall fixed. And the mechanic did a quick safety inspection, and said my ICP Sensor was leaking oil and needed to be replaced. I have had an oil leak down the back of the passenger side of the engine for a little while now and havent been able to tell where it is coming from. So know that the mechanic says its the sensor, it gives me a place to start looking to see if in fact that is whats leaking oil, but i dont know where it is located. Can anyone help???

well, it is possible that the ICP sensor is leaking, but i doubt thats your leak down the passenger side, because the ICP sensor is on the driver's side at the front of the motor. It's a pretty big bolt looking think with a pig tail connector plugged into the top of it.

If you replace it, go and buy it from an International dealership. WAY Cheaper

Oh, its at the front!!! Did they change the location of the ICP to the back on later models???

to my knowledge, that sensor has been in the same location on all the 7.3L Superduties. Someone correct me if im wrong on that...there might be a difference with an early 99.

2003-04 6.0's got silly and put it behind the turbo...so the turbo had to come off to replace the sensor...

turbo does not need to be removed to replace ICP sensor on a 6.0`s....


any 7.3`s i have worked on, ICP sensor has been on the left front of the motor....

i couldve swore the turbo had to come off on the '03 to replace a sensor, and then they upgraded it 04 and up?

ok, so are we talking the fornt face of the engine, or on top of the block on the LF???

Might you have gotten the acronyms mixed up? The IPR is located on the back of the HPOP next to the fuel bowl, right side of it.

The ICP is located in the driver side head near the front of the block near the IPR sensor. Look for the lifting lug, its just 'below' it.
