No Bullwinkle, I take it Crumm?

Dave

Not yet. Been sicker than a dog for two weeks(flu/walking pneumonia)so I have not been back out. Bull season has been over since the 25th but I have a harvest permit for a cow that is good until February 28th or until the quota gets met. I will probably go out later this month with a couple of buddy's for a four wheeler hunt unless the snow gets too deep then it will be a snow machine trip. Might make one last boat trip next weekend if I get to feeling better and if the river stays open.

Right now I am trying to figure out how to get the mud washed off the boat. Hard to do much washing when the water freezes as fast as you spray it on. Just cranked the shop heat up to 70 and am going to try a quick wash once the boat is good and warm. I figure if I pull it outside, wash fast and then back it back in the shop to dry it might work. We might even reach 32 degrees before the day is over, we just gained 4 degrees in the last hour. Just can't stand the thought of my baby being muddy all winter:(

Hummmmmmmmmm.................can ya rub it down with snow and clean it???

FWIW...........it takes weeks to get over that crap. Hunted last year with walking pneumonia. Deep, deep hacking cough............at night in bed my lungs just bubbled and bubbled the fluid with every breath. Felt sorry for my friends as I'm sure it kept them awake.

I have had it for two weeks today. On Sept 22nd I was way up the Wood river and while walking across a swamp I went in a little over my boots. I then had wet/cold feet for about four hours until I returned to camp. After drying out by the camp fire I put on dry socks but figured I was probably doomed. Later that night after dinner me and my son climbed into a 5'x6' tent and went to sleep. I think the temp that night only dropped to about 25* but the condensation in the little tent was extreme. I woke up at about 2am to some kind of critter roaming around camp and at that time I felt a little sore throat coming on. When we got up at 6am the back of my throat was completely swelled shut and I was spitting up blood. It has been a series of ups and downs since then but I think it is on the way out now. It seems to take about 20 minutes every morning just to hack all the crap out of my lungs. I am ready to feel better..

Deep, deep hacking cough............
The frigging cough will take you right to your knees. My whole body aches ever time I cough.

As far as wiping it down with snow I have actually seen guys do that on trucks but I am afraid smearing the mud around would scratch the finish. Not sure why I am concerned about scratching the finish on my boat that got muddy bouncing off of logs, brush and embankments but hey she is my baby. Battle scars are different than wash mit scratches.

That should work fine Crummy, we do that with farm equipment all winter (and it is worse than MUDDY, try packed full of frozen manure  )when it is well below zero, just gotta get the object warmed up.
Been 80-85 the last couple days, can't wait for it to get COLD :cold 3

And hey, hope your feeling better SOON, sick for 2 weeks is no fun at all...

Worked like a charm. She is shining like a new penny and snuggled away in the back of the shop. Even got the shop cleaned out enough to fit in Crummy, Explorer, two four wheelers and the boat. Now it is time to climb under a blankie on the couch and watch the tube.

if you want temperate climate, try the Cook Inlet... I know of an old schoolbus on twenty acres in Wasilla that might be for rent...

JLD- considering how screwed up traffic is in our region, and the morons who drive those roads, that 20 acres and trailer is sounding pretty good right not.
like ron white says, you can not fix stupid. its been one of those days/weeks already.

Crumm- send the snow and cold southeast. chicago was 90 again today. its freaking october !!!
