My baby girl just graduated from college. After 4 years of hard work, she graduated with a BS in biology and a minor in dance/ballet.

Last summer as well as last Christmas, she worked at Dave & Buster's in Nashville. She went in about one or two months prior to graduation, seeing if she could get her job back immediately after graduation. She talked to an assistant manager who told her, you betcha!!! We'd love to have you back. She was to start "training" today after purchasing "out of pocket" new clothes needed for the job.

Well, when she arrived, the head manager asked her what she was doing there and that there was no job for her. :rant:rant My baby girl was in tears. I don't give a damn who you are, you don't treat people like that. I'd be busting somebody in the face if it weren't for the fact I'm 900 something miles away. No body treats my girl like that. She as a minimum deserves an apology, if not a job with a raise, just to make up for the mental distress.

The problem is with internal management communications, not something my daughter should be punished for, or because of.

That is just not nice TG what that guy did to your baby girl. If I was closer I would show up punch that guy in his eye for you.

The manager supposedly told my daughter that he was awaiting approval from corporate headquarters, but hadn't yet gotten approval to re-hire her. That sounds like a outright lie to me. You think the company headquarters gives a hoot as to who gets hired at individual restaurants as servers or cooks? Probably not.

Mrs TG just talked to out daughter, she says she is done with Dave & Busters regardless if they call back or not. So I guess that clears me for action I have been contemplating.

Today I went on the Dave & Buster's website. There is a whole area talking about employee & management behavior, conduct and credibility. I plan on calling their company headquarters and asking for a senior company officer. I then plan on asking them if they are concerned or screen employee hires or re-hires. If he replies no, then I will inform him that the Nashville manager has violated company policy by lying to an employee/applicant and how my daughter was treated in such an unfair, unethical manner. People get fired very regularly for violation of company policy, especially when the issue at question is publicly known.

Me thinks a huge blow torch is getting ready to get turned in the direction of the Nashville Dave & Buster's manager. :evil:evil

I have friends there in law enforcement. I need the exact address of the place and his name. Nothing illegal will be done. :evil But let's say I hope he doesn't drive to work :)

About all I know is the place is in the Opryland Mall, the guy is of hispanic ethnicity and he is a total ass. Everyone who works there is either in fear of the guy or will take the long way around if they can avoid him.

Aside from the one jackass, she liked everybody else she worked with, it was a fun job, and the tips were decent.

And since you mentioned it, we talked to her this evening. She went looking for other jobs after the episode in question. She went into another place to apply, they interviewed her and hired her on the spot.

She still needs to be paid back what she spent for the uniforms she can't use.
I know a couple of lawyers there in town. With all of the fine people on SSD.com we could come up with something to get him in court over. LOL NevrKnows can call the cops, and J F 250 can be on hand to take care of the heavier work.
