BEEN SO ****ING ANGRY IN MY LIFE!!!

really long story short....

my dad who decided my brother and i needed help, caused my brothers 100% SANDBLASTED & PAINTED, FULLY ASSEMBLED engine/trans/t-case to free fall about 5 feet to solid pavement.:rant:nutkick::cussing::censored::backoff

we tore it all back down to pieces tonight, fighting with the red loctite on every single nut and bolt, the hi-tack on every gasket (grips really well to freshly sandblasted pieces) and my brother will spend all day tomorrow cleaning gasket surfaces, and re-forming the oil and trans pan. i will be trucking the transmission out to the welder guy, where we will assemble the puzzle of bellhousing pieces and weld the NEW trans back together.

also the nice paint on the back of the block is trashed because we had to weld nuts to the broke off bolts to extract them, the heat was just too close to the fresh uncured paint, it melted.

the engine was supposed to be in and running (from a bottle just to see if it would start/run) this weekend. we are already a month behind schedule with this build (he got his learners permit beginning of the week) and now with this lovely adventure, on a holiday weekend, we wont be swinging it in until next weekend...MAYBE!

I dont ever remember being this mad. the worst part is that i cant scream because its my dad and he doesnt know better. i really want to get this truck done because i was going to drive it while i rust repaired and painted mine, dont think its going to work out for me now.

Zook, I'm gonna assume I'm quite a bit older than you. Dude, he's your dad. Imagine how bad he feels if he did something wrong and screwed up his kids project. Did he decide you guys needed help, or just want to feel involved? I can only WISH my dad were around to create havoc. Don't be too hard on him. He probably feels bad enough. You'll get it done. Not trying to give unsolicited advise, just hitting the problem from a different angle.

no yelling at dad, i have done way too much to him and mom over the past 25 years. also, we are using his garage to build the engine, his tractor to hoist it, tearing the crap out of his lawn to drive it down to his barn where the truck is. also, the other side of his garage has the race machines.

most importantly, if you yell at your "workers" they dont want to work anymore; at least not for you.

we couldnt get mr welder on the phone this morning, so we are putting it on the back burner for a week. race season is coming fast and we havent touched the quads since last race of last season. what the hell, we are a month behind anyway, whats another few weeks? also i figure we are better of not working on it while we are working PO'd, being that my brother is twice as pissed as i, we dont need to be hacking it back together just to get it done.

the funneist part of all of this: when we were assembling the engine and transmission, we used the red loctite, because its the strong stuff and we didnt want any leaks, any loose bolts, no problems at all due to us losing our nuts. my brother and i have poopy luck, to the point that a few of our friends dubbed our race team "broke it brothers" and "nothing runs racing". i was thinking about our poopy luck while applying loctite to all the bolts, and joking ly said to my brother that we shouldnt do it this time because something will happen and we will need to take it all apart again before it hits the truck. he replied "we have done everything perfectly, nothing can happen". so last night we were laughing about it while we were fighting with all the bolts to get them out.

Zookie, good job man. Way better to rant here than at pops. We'll listen to every word.

Zook that stinks I know but just like you said your dad didn't know any better and just wanted to help out. Vent on us not your dad we'll sit here with drinks and listen all day. Hope things get better, and when the project is complete time to laugh.

so you cant work on the truck, get to wok on the quads. Be happy that your Dad was willing to help. Too many aren't. He sounds, just from the bit that you told us that he is a decent man. Probably because he sounds like m own dad.
