Here's the update..... I had the tranny flushed today, for all of you that are not aware of this procedure, my diesel mechanic hooks this electric pumping machine to the cooling lines of the torqueshift tranny and pours in 18 quarts of Mercon SP tranny fluid into the machine. Fires up the truck, gets the tranny hot, then switches on the machine. Then it transfers all 18 quarts of old fluid with the new fluid, including any fluid in the torque converter. All went well, I was a little skeptical about doing it at first but I gave it a try. I did however ask them to change the frame mounted filter which was pretty dirty. The tranny now shifts smother, runs cooler. I'm glad I did it. Much better than just dropping the pan and changing the filter and adding 8 qts of oil.
