Here's the update..... I had the tranny flushed today, for all of you that are not aware of this procedure, my diesel mechanic hooks this electric pumping machine to the cooling lines of the torqueshift tranny and pours in 18 quarts of Mercon SP tranny fluid into the machine. Fires up the truck, gets the tranny hot, then switches on the machine. Then it transfers all 18 quarts of old fluid with the new fluid, including any fluid in the torque converter. All went well, I was a little skeptical about doing it at first but I gave it a try. I did however ask them to change the frame mounted filter which was pretty dirty. The tranny now shifts smother, runs cooler. I'm glad I did it. Much better than just dropping the pan and changing the filter and adding 8 qts of oil.

Yeah it was worth it. I couldn't believe they didn't change the inline filter when they did mine. I figured it would be standard, glad I asked!

That kind of crap is why I try and do everything I can myself. I got tired of the dealers charging up the whaazoo and not even doing all the work.
Tried to buy a transmission filter element. $44.00+.
"They're less than half of that online, I'd like to buy from you but that's awfully high."
"Well, that's how much they are."
Didn't ask him to match the price, expected him to get close.
Didn't budge.
Walked out.
Ordered two online, one for now, one so I don't have to wait next time.
I think the owners of these dealerships should hire shopping services to see how their customers are being treated.
