I think that just might be every mans dream. I think I would just make that back part a bedroom. My wife and two daughters would have me in it every night. I would pretend to feel punished too.

I need to know the primary purpose of the lights.

Incandescents, don't go there.

Flourescents are energy effeciant but will require more maintenance per hours of use. They would be good for lighting the area very bright for projects at night, etc.

Metal halides would be more expensive up front, but would require less overall maintenance, and less number of fixtures. They could light the area up very well, if wattage and placement were done correctly. They also will require warmup time instead of instant lighting. In the case of a power outage or surge they would require cool down, and warm up time. This is usually combatted with one or two small flourescent fixtures on another switch for use as nightlighting when you are only passing through the area, and do not need to turn on the whole area.

I just looked at the photos again, if it was my place I would install two 250W metal halide "high bay" fixtures in the center, up high. Then place some 4' two lamp F32T8 flourescents in strategic places for just lighting the area when passing through.

If you go flourescent, stay away from T12 fixtures. The lamps will be obsolete soon, and they use twice the energy with the same or less light output. Go with T8 electronic ballast fixtures. All the fixtures you use should be weather resistant also, even though they are covered.

Wow - you sound like a lectrician :)

YOu need the interior lit up or the exterior ?!?!?!

if for the exterior....
On the new house I needed some projections type lights for the back when I let the pup out...
it's pretty heavy with trees (although trimmed high ) and about 250 foot to the back 8 foot fence....

Course the builder put in regular ole outside spots which lit up about 40 foot or so....

went by Home Depot and got some 6 x 8" 250 Watt replacements that LIGHT up the whole yard....
nice sharp cutoff on all four sides so I can direct it just into my yard and not blind the planes, etc... :)

IIRC they were like $19.95 or $29.95 each !!!!
and in brown to match the house trim....

these halides 250w are these the ones like we had in gym sort of a blueish light? wha is teh light flow is it a flood or more directional
I had teh electricain place two boxes up on teh center raft one is offset of the rv, no need to light up the roof, and teh other is about centerred over teh remaining 10 feet of driveway truck parking

I didnt know t12 where goners , lowes has a bunch of em. cheap
i saw a few four footers last night but i have never got much life from a flourescent fixture.
would you happen to know where i can see one of these halides lamps and maybe purchase??
you said high intial cost? how hgh under 200 or over
i put in a better picture os the boxes
back over near the door the electricain is putting ina motion light
and i found some very nice coach lights for the street side entry posts
johnboy
i am using normal interior lamps three so far,
still ironing out the kitchenette layout and the spiral stair case,
